Ternaya Cummings

Youth Work Course Tutor and Assessor

Ternaya is the Director of the Playscheme as well as a qualified and respected youth work trainer.  She has been delivering the Level 2 Award in Youth Work Principles and the Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice for over 12 years.  

Ternaya holds a Level 4 PTLLS and Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work practice qualifications and started her career in youth work 18 years ago. She has delivered and managed centre-based youth work as well as outreach and detached in numerous areas across South Gloucestershire and Somerset during this time.  And she now holds a Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievements.

Ternaya also has a vast experience of supporting young people at risk of exclusion or anti-social behaviour.  She is very passionate about working with young people and ensuring their voices are heard.   

Chrissy Sidney

Training Administrator

Chrissy manages the training admin at Turtle CYP to support the provision of the NOCN accredited Youth Work course and Cygnet courses. From enrolment through to providing certificates at the successful completion of the course. With over 25 years experience in marketing, Chrissy also manages the web site.

Natasha Scully

Youth Work Course Internal Quality Assurer

Tash has worked in and led youth and community work for over 15 years in centre-based, detached, mobile and targeted youth work provision – across London, the South East, and the South West. Her passion is supporting young people and youth workers to achieve their goals and potential, energetically and positively to reflect, learn and grow.

She is JNC qualified, completing her MA in Applied Anthropology, Community and Youth Work in 2014. She holds a Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance and is completing her Level 3 Award in Education and Training. She supports the Turtle CYP team to deliver the best training possible, to meet the requirements for NOCN (the awarding body) and continuously develop the course.

Derek Close

Youth Work Course Assessor

Derek has the JNC Youth and Community work, Teaching (Cert.Ed), Assessment (CAVA) qualifications and a BA Hons degree. He has extensive experience of designing, tutoring and facilitating a wide range of accredited and other courses for different clients at both the local and national level. His focus is on learning, personal and professional development, with an emphasis on enabling all people to achieve their full potential through the development of their skills, qualities and expertise.
